Honor V9 Play mid-ranger with 5.2-inch display, 4GB RAM announced

Huawei sub-brand Honor announced the dual-camera toting Honor V9 flagship, back in February this year. Now the brand has announced a toned down and affordable version of Honor V9 called Honor V9 Play. It gets smaller display, single camera instead of dual-camera and utilizes MediaTek processor instead of Huawei's home built Kirin, when compared to V9.

The Honor V9 Play features 5.2-inch HD 2.5D curved glass display and is powered by octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor with Mali T860 GPU. It has 32GB internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card and comes in two RAM options: 3GB and 4GB RAM.

For photography, there's a single 13MP f/2.0 rear camera with PDAF and LED flash, and 8MP f/2.2 front facing shooter. It is fueled by 3000mAh battery, and supports dual-SIMs, 4G LTE, VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS for connectivity.

It runs Android Nougat based EMUI 5.1, and sports metal body with fingerprint scanner at the back which comes in Gold, Rose Gold, Red, Blue and Black colors.

The Honor V9 Play 3GB RAM version has been priced at CNY 999 ($153 | Rs. 10,000), and the 4GB RAM model costs CNY 1199 ($184 | Rs. 12,000). It will go on sale in China starting September 12.
