Google File Go now available in the Play Store as beta

Earlier this week, Google's new file manager app called File Go for Android devices leaked ahead of the official launch. Now the app is available for download on Google Play Store, but in beta form.

The Files Go app is designed to help Android users to manage files and free space on their device by deleting unused app, clear cache, and delete unwanted media, downloaded and duplicate files. All this actions can be done through the 'Storage' section, and is shown in the form of cards.

There's also a 'Files' section, where you can browse through all your Android device's files such as downloads, received files, images, videos, audio and documents.

The app also has SHAREit like function that lets you transfer files to other devices over WiFi hotspot. In order this feature to work both you and the recipient need to have the app installed on the device.

The highlights of Files Go app are mentioned below:
  • Help you free up more space in many more ways than before.
  • Suggest removing apps you no longer use to keep your phone fast & feeling new.
  • Recognize and help you remove the spam & duplicate images.
  • Find your important documents without cumbersome and manual effort.
  • Share your files offline – fast & secure – with the tap of a button.
Google's File Go app is just 6MB in size and is available on the Play Store right away (Link). The app is compatible with devices running Android Lollipop and later iterations.
