Asus has rolled out a new update to its 5.5-inch ZenFone 3 Max model (ZC553KL) that brings ZenUI 4.0. To remind you earlier this month the ZenFone 4 Max which shipped with ZenUI 3.0, also got updated to ZenUI 4.0.

The update arrives as version V14.0200.1712.347 and is rolling out over-the-air. Asus says it will take about a week for system to complete the autopush, so if you have not yet received the update, go to 【Setting】->【About】->【System Update】to update manually.

ZenUI 4.0 brings a cleaner and lighter interface, and trims down the 35-preinstalled app on previous ZenUI to just 13 apps.

Note that ZenUI update are not related to Android version, so the phone is still running Android 7.1.1.  As for the Oreo update, Asus has promised to release it to all ZenFone 3 and ZenFone 4 device by the second half of 2018. The ZenFone 4 Oreo update is expected to arrive later this month.
