Google Launches Two-Wheeler Mode For Maps In India

Google is adding a new feature to its Maps app, that will help bikers find the most suitable route to a destination in the world's largest two-wheeler market with millions of motorcycle and scooter riders.

The India-first feature dubbed Two-wheeler mode is placed alongside the Drive, Train or Bus and Walk mode and is aimed at providing two-wheeler riders with better navigation and directions that are best suited for them.

The two-wheeler mode in Maps shows trip routes that use "shortcuts" not accessible to cars and trucks. It also provides customized traffic and arrival time estimations. It will also show major landmarks on the route so that riders can plan their trip before starting and don't have to keep checking the phone on the go.

The rest of the functions such as traffic situations, lanes, voice recognition are also available in Two-wheeler mode.

Two-wheeler mode in Google Maps is now available in India and will expand to more countries in the coming month.
