OxygenOS 5.0.1 For OnePlus 3/3T Adds aptX HD Support, December Security Patch & More

The duo of OnePlus 3 and 3T were updated to Oreo last month and now OnePlus is rolling out an incremental update for the two devices. This update adds a new screen calibration mode, device manager for WiFi hotspot, December security patch and support for aptX HD.

Although I have mentioned all the changes, here is the changelog anyway:

aptX HD is a technology designed by Qualcomm for improving the audio quality on Bluetooth enabled speakers and headphones. aptX HD preserves sound data during audio transmission which results in High Definition audio output.

There are now four screen calibration options for configuring the display colors. The "adaptive mode" screen calibration OnePlus mentions in the changelog is labeled as 'Soft' under the 'Screen calibration' section in 'Display' settings. You can try out each of 'Default', 'Soft' and 'sRGB', and see which calibration mode looks best to your eyes. If you are looking to tweak the display colors to your utmost liking, you can experiment with 'Custom color' settings.

If you are running OxygenOS 5.0 on your OnePlus 3/3T, you would be getting a 145MB update notification soon. The OTA update is likely to take some time to show up on your device, but you can get the update notification instantly if you change your country to as Canada in OperaVPN (Play Store | APK). We currently don't have the OTA and full ROM links for this update. We will update this post as soon as we get our hands on them.
