VLC for iOS updated to support iPhone X screen and 4K videos


Popular media player VLC's iOS app is picking up an update that adds improved support for Apple’s latest hardware and software.

The version 2.8.6 makes VLC's iOS app compatible with iPhone X, so the UI is now adjusted to adopt to the tall 5.8-inch OLED display.

Apart from iPhone X compatability, the update also brings full support for 4K videos formatted in HEVC (High Efficiency Video coding), along with a fix for app termination issue encountered on devices running iOS 7 and iOS 8. The update also contains bug fixes as well.
