HTC ventures into virtual reality with 'Vive' VR headset

 
HTC at its MWC 2015 press event on Sunday, announced its first virtual reality (VR) headset dubbed HTC Hive. The VR headset is built in collabration with game developer Steam. 

HTC Hive comes with a Full Room scale 360 Degree solution with tracked controllers that lets users to walk around and explore virtual space, inspect objects from every angle and lets you interact with your surroundings.

It also features high-quality graphics, 90-frames per second video and offers incredible audio fidelity. It supports motion controls and has its own two wireless VR controllers that can be used for a wide range of VR experience like interact with apps, videos or other content displayed on the Vive.

The Beta version of Vive Developer Kit have already generated content from some cool game developers, including Vertigo Games, Bossa, Barry -Fireproof, Dovetail Games, Wemo Labs, Google, Steel Wool Games and Owlchemy for entertainment content. It is also woking with leading content creators that includes Google, HBO, Lionsgate and the National Palace Museum in Taiwan for virtual reality content.

The HTC Vive Developer Edition will be launched to content and game creators by Spring and the consumer edition will be available by the end of 2015.
