Next iPhone to have Force Touch and could be Pink

According to a report from Wall Street Journal, Apple is currently testing a new pink color version for the new iPhone, plus it is also testing a Force Touch function for its display screen.

The new, pink colour will be sold along with gold, space gray and silver colour variants when Apple unveils the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus this fall.

Apple is also planning to release its 2015 iPhones with Force Touch-equipped display. This technology is already being used in Apple Watch and the new 12-inch MacBook. A deep press allows users to perform different action. On Apple Watch it can open a list of options, while on MacBook it is used simulate a traditional mouse click.

The Force Touch is feature where the system recognizes force applied on the display. It uses tiny electrodes around the flexible Retina display to sense distinction between light tap and deep press that trigger specific controls. The feature is available on newly announced MacBook, Upgraded MacBook Pro and Air and Apple Watch.

Wall Street Journal also reports that the comapny will not alter the design of the new iPhones as the company always keeps its iPhone designs for around two years. Apple will retain the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screen sizes and similar resolutions (1080 x 1920 pixels). The report further says that "there could be one very visible change". The mass production for the 2015 iPhone will start in May.

The new color, according to the Wall Street Journal, will be sold along with the Gold, Space Gray, and Silver models when the Cupertino giant debuts its successor to the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus this fall. Design changes to the smartphone itself may be minimal since Apple keeps their designs on a two-year scale, and mass production for the product will begin this May.
In addition to the pink iPhone, the Force Touch feature may make its way to smartphones, too. This could bring in a lot of new gesture operations for Apple’s handheld device: A deep click can open a list of options (like the Apple Watch) or simulate another click (like in the 2015 Macbook, where the deep press simulates as a right click, among things).
For those who missed the news earlier this week, Force Touch is Apple’s new touch feature where the system recognizes force applied to the display. It uses tiny electrodes around the flexible Retina display to sense distinctions between a light tap and a deep press, and trigger specific controls. This has been introduces on on all 2015 versions of Macbook devices, including Pro and Air, and the Apple Watch.
