Asus ZenFone 4, 5, 6 start receiving Android 5.0 Lollipop update

Asus has started rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop update to ZenFone 4, ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 6 users. The update is being rolled out OTA and users can also download the update via the official Asus ZenTalk forum. The OTA is rolling out in phases.

The Android 5.0 Lollipop for the ZenFone 4 (A400CG) comes with version 7.3.3, ZenFone 5 (A500CG / A501CG) with version 3.23.40.52, and ZenFone 6 (A600CG / A601CG) with version 3.23.40.52. The company has listed some changes which include removal of some unsupported pre-installed apps after the update that includes battery widget, PhotFrame widget, Movie studio, Cloud print, CMClient and Magic Smoke wallpapers.

Asus on its forum notes that the Android 5.0 Lollipop for ZenFones no longer supports NTFS format SD card, Asus wants you to backup your SD card data before upgrading. 

The Android Lollipop update for the first generation ZenFone brings new lockscreen with removed standalone wallpaper and weather details, change to the quick setting / recent app layouts (both for 1GB RAM variant only, revamped dailer and contacts, removal of in-call animation and cover, addition of My Ocean wallpaper, Day Scene Live wallpaper, Asus Auto-start service manager app, auto-start service manager and improved VOIP phone call function and music function.
