HP Pro Tablet 608 with Intel Cherry Trial processor, Windows 10 announced

HP announced the comapny's first Windows 10 tablet for business and commercial customers dubbed HP Pro Tablet 608. Initially the tablet will ship with Windows 8.1 which will be upgraded to Windows 10 upon its release. Starting August the tablet will ship with Windows 10 pre-installed. The tablet has a thickness of 8.35mm and has a metal-reinforced chasis.

The HP Pro Tablet 608 features 8-inch (2048 x 1536 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection and is powered by quad-core Intel Atom x5-Z8500 Cherry Trial processor with Intel HD graphics. It comes with a choice of 2GB or 4GB RAM and 32GB, 64GB or 128GB internal storage. It sports 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel front facing camera for video calling.

The tablet houses Dual front-facing stereo speakers, dual microphone, DTS Studio sound and noise-cancellation software. On the connectivty front it supports 4G LTE, WiFi, WiDi, Mircast, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC. It is also HP's first tablet to integrate USB Type-C port for fast charging and data transfer. It offers 8 hours of battery life.

The HP Pro Tablet 608 G1 prices start from $479 for the base model. It also has an optional keyboard case, Atmel digital pen and a portable travel dock with HDMI, Ethernet and full-sized USB ports.
