Sony Xperia Z and M2 series, T2 Ultra, C3 to get Android 5.1 Lollipop update starting July
Recently, Sony started rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop update to the Xperia Z series. Even though the update is being rolled out for most Xperia Z series devices worldwide, some markets worldwide are still receiveing the Android 5.0 Lollipop as we speak. Today, Sony made a big announcement that will make lots of loyal fans happy.
Sony announced that it will roll out Android 5.1 Lollipop update for the entire Xperia Z series smartphone as well as Xperia T2 Ultra, Xperia C3, Xperia M2 and Xperia M2 Aqua starting from July.
The Sony Xperia M2 and its dual-SIM variant were launched with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and was updated to Android 4.4 KitKat in August last year. The Sony Xperia M2 Aqua and its dual-SIM variant runs Android 4.4 KitKat. Both the phones will be directly updated to Android 5.1 Lollipop.

The Android 5.1 Lollipop roll out will be a phased process and the timing and availability might vary across different carriers and countries.
- Sony Xperia Z3 series: Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3v, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact
- Sony Xperia Z2 series: Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet
- Sony Xperia Z1 series: Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z1S, Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Z Ultra GPE
- Sony Xperia Z series: Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z
- Sony Xperia M2 and Xperia M2 Aqua
- Sony Xperia T2 Ultra
- Sony Xperia C3
