Nikon patent points to fragrance emitting smartwatch

Smartwatch offers functions such as activity tracking, notifications, GPS, music player and more, but a new patent filed by camera maker Nikon covers a very peculiar smartwatch.

Nikon's patent document makes a reference to a smartwatch that is capable of emitting fragrances that are housed with a cartridge inside the watch. The patent document shows an image of a smartwatch, with a circular casing, round display, dial and a few buttons, but does not reveal how it will release the fragrance.

The patent also states that the smartwatch is able to release the fragrance automatically based on time or based on gender or age of the user using face detection.

The concept sounds interesting, but it is not known whether Nikon is working on a smartwatch, or intends to use the fragrance emitting feature on it.
