Gmail for Android gets support for Microsoft Exchange accounts

Back in 2014, Gmail for Android (v 5.0) got support for third-party email accounts alongside Microsoft's Exchange email service, that allowed the Gmail app to add support for for all email providers including Yahoo Mail, Outlook and more - using POP/IMAP and Exchange protocols. At that time the feature was limited to Nexus and Android One devices.

Now Google has added Exchange support covering mails, contacts and calendar scheduled for all Android devices, with latest version 6.4. For those unaware, Exchange is Microsoft’s business email service. With the addition of exchange support, Gmail users, will no longer require their work mail sent in separate app, instead get all of them in Google's email client.

Google says that the update is rolling out gradually and will be available within the next few days.
