Lenovo Vibe S1 is now getting Android Marshmallow in India


Lenovo after updating the K3 Note, A7000 and Vibe P1 to Android Marshmallow in India, has today starting rolling out the Marshmallow update to the selfie-focused Vibe S1 in the country.

There's no word on the official change-log at the moment, but users can expect the usual Marshmallow goodies including App Permission, Doze Mode, Google Now on Tap, App links and more in the new firmware. It will also include Android Security patch.

The update is being rolled out over-the-air and when your device is ready to get the update, you'll be notified or else you can manually check for the update by going to Settings > About Phone > System Update.

To recap, the Lenovo Vibe S1(running Lollipop) was launched in India in November last year for Rs. 15,999, but is now available at Rs. 12,999. The Vibe S1 was the world's first smartphone to have dual-front facing camera, 8MP + 2MP. The 8MP camera captures the sharpest photos, while the secondary 2MP camera analyses depth of field information. In addition to front facing dual-camera, the rest of the specs include 5-inch 1080p display, 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt expandable storage, 13MP rear camera (w/ dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, BSI sensor), Hybrid dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE and a 2250mAh battery.

Next in line to receive Android Marshmallow update are the is the Vibe X3, A7000 Plus, Vibe K4 Note, K5/K5 Plus, which is expected to roll out soon.
