Xiaomi Mi Max with 6.4-inch display gets certified by TENAA

The Xiaomi Mi Max part has been part of several leaks, ever since it first hit the headlines. Xiaomi has already confirmed that it will officially announce the Mi Max on May 10, and just a day back released the first teaser video. Now ahead of the launch, the Mi Max has been certified by Chinese telecommunication certification authority TENAA, revealing specification and design of the phablet.

Design-wise, the Mi Max looks very similar to the Mi Note with no physical button, instead it has capacitve buttons at the front. The fingerprint scanner is located at the back, which has been already confirmed by the teaser video that Xiaomi outed recently. Notably the Mi Max product shots outed by TENAA are in in-line with earlier leaked image.

The Xiaomi Mi Max will not be a powerful flagship category smartphone like the Mi 5 or Mi Note, instead it will sit in the mid-range category. As for the specification, the Mi Max comes with 6.44-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 650 SoC, 16MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, 4G LTE, fingerprint sensor and 4000mAh battery. It will come in two variants - 2GB RAM + 16GB storage and 3GB RAM + 32GB storage. It is likely to MIUI 8 based on Android Marshmallow. Interestingly spec-wise the Mi Max appears to be an upgraded Redmi Note 3 with a bigger display and a slightly smaller battery.

Xiaomi will launch the Mi Max at an event in Beijing, China on May 10, alongside MIUI 8. Even though, Mi Band 2 release has been delayed by a month, we can expect the fitness tracker to be introduced at the event and make it available for the consumers a month later.
