Microsoft Xbox One S is official, smallest Xbox yet

As expected, Microsoft at E3 2016 introduced a new smaller Xbox One game console dubbed Xbox One S. It is 40 percent smaller than the original Xbox One and comes in white color.

The Xbox One S comes with 4K Ultra HD video support (including 4K Ultra HD Bluray) and HDR capabilities for both gaming and video for richer and more luminous color in games, built-in power supply, an IR Blaster and up to 2TB storage. The gaming console comes with an optional stand that allows it to be placed horizontally or vertically.

There's 3 x USB ports and (one on the front) and controller pairing button on the front. The dedicated Kinect port has been removed from the back. However, Kinect for Xbox will still be compatible with Xbox One S via the Xbox Kinect Adapter for USB connection. Microsoft is offering a free Xbox Kinect Adapter for those who currently own a Kinect for Xbox One and plans to buy the new console.

It not just the console that's been refreshed, Xbox One S also comes with a newly designed Xbox wireless Controller. It has the same White color scheme as the console, but has textured grips on the back and Bluetooth connectivity, which both adds more wireless range when used with Xbox One S.

All Xbox One games, accessories and Xbox Live services will work with the new Xbox One S.

The special limited edition launch edition of Xbox One S with 2TB hard drive is priced at $399 and will be available in early August. Two standard versions will follow soon after, a 500GB edition for $299 and 1TB edition for $349.
