Google Station aims to bring reliable, fast Wi-Fi to more public locations in India

Earlier this year Google partnered with Indian Railways and RailTel to offer free WiFi across railway stations in the country, which is currently available across 52 stations with 3.5 million monthly active users.

Now Google wants to expand the service to other public places in India and also other countries across the globe through a new public Wi-Fi initiative called Google Stations.

Under the service, Google will provide reliable, safe, secure and fast Wi-Fi at public places like malls, bus stops, city centers, cafes and more, which is visited by large number of people. Currently the free Wi-Fi network is expected to expand to 100 cities in India, and more locations around the world soon.

Google is seeking out for partners such as large venues and organizations, network operators, fiber providers, system integrators, and infrastructure companies for the Google Station initiative
