OnePlus X Gets Marshmallow Based OxygenOS 3.1.2

OnePlus X users will finally be getting a taste of Marshmallow 6.0.1 through OxygenOS 3.1.2, OnePlus has announced. Both the OnePlus X and Android Marshmallow were announced in October last year. OnePlus is definitely late with this one, but we do hope that there is no such delay when Nougat based OxygenOS is released.

Anyway, here are the changes this update will bring in:
  • Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow upgrade
  • Launcher upgrades
    • New icon packs
    • Google search bar UI customization
    • New design of wallpaper picker
  • Shelf UX improvements
    • Long press boards to rearrange or remove
  • General system performance improvement
  • Settings changes
    • New (native Android) app permissions
    • New Alert Slider settings with more customization options
  • New apps
    • OnePlus Music Player
    • OnePlus Gallery
  • Implemented October Android security patches
  • General bug fixes
If you use either the Facebook or Facebook Messenger App, then you will need to manually give storage permission to both the apps or else it will crash while using the phone's camera.
