Facebook Battles With Snapchat Again Through 'Flash'

With Snapchat improving the app day by day and the latest addition being the Augmented Reality support there seems to be no stopping but then you know the market is tough and several companies are trying to establish themselves in one or the other genre. One such app called Flash has been released by Facebook with the vision to crush Snapchat.

This move by the company seems unnecessary because Instagram, which is already owned by Facebook, has the same ability and now it also supports mention and links in the limited time Stories feature that it carries. The reason of launching Flash can be that the company wanted to launch a standalone app for the Story sharing feature to compete with Snapchat directly and there's no hesitation in saying that Flash is a clone of Snapchat. Sorry Facebook! You seem to try too hard. And we say this to remind you that earlier Slingshot was launched by Facebook with the same motive and it failed drastically and didn't even survive a year.

Now to talk what's in the app and what makes it different in some sense. Flash has been developed for the people who use low speed internet or scarce on WiFi, Facebook also claims that the app will run smoothly on low end devices too. The app currently goes with 21MB package and has been in hands to Brazilian users only.

The only thing that can make this app a success shot is its size and capability to run on slow internet. The company says that the app will be soon launched to other countries but hasn't provided any time frame. To those who are wondering why we should use Flash when we have Instagram Stories made by the same company, the only answer we have to it is below-

Flash has got masks (or lenses for the Snapchat reference) which Instagram is yet to adopt. Well, we have to wait for the app to roll out to other markets. But wait! Curious? Okay let's sideload it from here till the official support arrives here!

Let's see if this app can turn gold for Facebook. To our experience the app ran very smooth and didn't skipped a second while switching masks. But the actual result will come when the app comes to mass audience and can run the load as smooth as it runs now.
