'Instagram Live' Tour: Yet Another Live Candidate

It's not been long since Live broadcast (media broadcast without a significant delay) went viral on social platforms, people tend to love and use it for different purposes. This trend is going viral with celebrities trying to connect to people more and more and even common man use it for various special events or other purposes, because, why not, its so simple to use and starts working in seconds. Instagram is the latest app to join this club and looks like the feature copycat is not eyeing to stop anywhere soon.

Live feature has been rolled out on Instagram and today we are going to take a tour of it. The above shot shows how and where the people going live will be visible to their followers. Stories list consists of the people going live with the Live tag at the bottom the their profile picture. Also, the circular ring around the user badge of live users is kind of different from people having stories in terms of color. As you can see, the user with live tag has more of purple while other have more of orange in the rings. Not only this, to highlight the live person, that badge has a pumping animation which is eye catching and makes sense too. Now, let's jump and see what the live feed actually looks like once you're in.

Once you're into the live feed, you're greeted with this beautiful, but not so new video screen, because this is almost identical to Facebook Live and composition of everything in the feed is as same as what Facebook offers, no wonder why because Instagram is under Facebook. So, at the top left corner you have the profile picture and name with live counter sitting on another corner. Behind it, we've the live video with comments beautifully fading up after displaying 5 at a time. Well, the only difference here is that you have only hearts to react and not all those happy, sad, surprised and angry stuff that you have on the Facebook live feed.

Talking about the quality, it's not that good and depends upon the network factors for obvious reasons. We tested this on a 4G network and found no such issues or lags while watching it, but yes, the pixelation is an irritating element here which disturbs overall experience. But, now we have another platform to go live, let's see how people respond to it and how much success will it taste.
