Nexus 6 To Get Nougat 7.1.1 Real Soon, Can Be The Last Update Too

Nexus 6, which is still worthy and flaunting in the Nougat lineup is about to get better. It is now confirmed that the device will get Official Nougat 7.1.1 in early January. That's what 2017 will start with for Nexus 6 owners.

Although it's running Nougat 7.0 and is still being supported after the Nexus 5 denial to any further updates, users have been waiting long for 7.1.1 and will be happy to learn that Android Police went ahead and asked Google for the same and here's what the giant replied -

Unfortunately, we found a last minute bug that was specific to the Nexus 6, which has caused the delay of the 7.1.1 OTA rollout. We've since fixed the issue and will be rolling out an update in early January.

There's no information for what kind of bug it was but since it has been fixed one should switch to the silver lining here. This statement will surely make Nexus 6 owners hell happy but with that being said, let's recall how old this device is now, launched in November 2014, Nexus 6 is now over 2 years and thus it is being speculated that the update coming in January might be the last update for the device so, it's better not to expect anymore jumping to version numbers, still the security patches are expected to be on the way even after 7.1.1 for the same.
