Samsung Galaxy S8 will reportedly have 'all-screen' bezel-less display

After the Note7 fiasco, Samsung is placing all its bets on its upcoming Galaxy S8 flagship. The South Korean tech giant has already confirmed that Galaxy S8 will flaunt a brand new design. Now Bloomberg has revealed a few details about the design of Galaxy S8.

The report says that Samsung will use a wraparound OLED display without any bezels for Galaxy S8, giving it a all-screen bezel-less look, just like Xiaomi's Mi Mix. To employ such technology, Samsung will have to ditch the physical home button. Instead Galaxy S8 will have a virtual home button, which will be placed below the glass in lower section. This also means that the fingerprint sensor will also have to be moved under the glass.

Furthermore, the Galaxy S8 will arrive in two screen sizes, 5.1-inch and 5.5-inch, similar to its predecessors Galaxy S6/Galaxy S7 series. The phone will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor or in-house Exynos chipset depending on the region. It will also feature an upgraded digital assistant, which is allegedly called Brixby.

Earlier reports suggested that the Galaxy S8 will have dual-rear camera system. However, now it is being said that Samsung is considering top scrap plans for the dual-camera setup due to high manufacturing cost.

The latest information comes a day after it was reported that Galaxy S8 will not feature headphone jack.

The Galaxy S8 was rumored to be unveiled in February, before MWC 2017 kicks off, however, the new report says that Galaxy S8 could be delayed until April, as Samsung is adopting tougher testing procedures, in wake of Galaxy Note7 recall.
