Android Wear 2.0 is arriving in February 2017

Android Wear 2.0, Google's platform for wearables was announced back in May last year at Google's I/O event. It was expected to release in fall 2016, but was later delayed to early 2017. Now we get to know when Android Wear 2.0 will hit supported wearable, courtesy of an email that's being sent to developers.

The email says that Android Wear 2.0 will be out in early February, and developers should update their apps to take advantage of the new features, or else their apps will not appear on the on-watch Play Store. Apart from Play Store, Android Wear 2.0 brings refreshed UI, support for standalone apps that don't need a phone companion, tiny keyboard, Google Assistant, Android Pay and many other improvements.

It's already been confirmed that Google will launch two Android Wear 2.0 smartwatches in Q1 2017.
