Huawei Mate 9 gets a new variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage

The Huawei Mate 9 was launched in November last year with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Now the company has started selling a new model that comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, as it has been listed on some third-party e-commerce retailers like Amazon at $899 (Rs. 61,000), GeekBuying.com at $819.99 (Rs. 56,000) and TO2C.com for $764 (Rs. 52,000).

Apart from the upgraded RAM and storage, there's no other changes to rest of the specifications of Mate 9.

Running Android Nougat based EMUI 5.0, the Huawei Mate 9 had 6-inch Full HD IPS display, Kirin 960 processor and 4000mAh battery. It sports second-generation Leica dual-lens camera (20MP monochrome sensor + 12MP RGB sensor), which has been co-engineered with Leica. On the front there's an 8MP selfie shooter.

Other features include hybrid dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, NFC, USB Type-C, fingerprint scanner and Huawei's SuperCharge fast charging technology (full day use with 20 minute of charge).

The Mate 9 also supports Google's Daydream VR platform, thanks to the built-in sensors, and is compatible with Google's Daydream View VR headset.

Currently Huawei is selling the Mate 9 in China, Europe and U.S markets. It is not known when the handset will launch in India.
