Android 7.1.2 Beta Is Being Rolled Out To The Nexus 6P

Google had started rolling out the beta builds of Nougat 7.1.2 to the supported Nexus and Pixel devices last month. Even though the Nexus 6P was among the contenders for the Android 7.1.2 upgrade, the beta builds for the device were not made available last month. Google had however said that it will be bringing Nougat 7.1.2 to the 2015 Nexus smartphone in the form of beta builds later on.

Keeping it's promise, Google has started rolling out the beta build of Android 7.1.2 to the Nexus 6P. To be eligible to get the update, you should be enrolled in Android's beta program. If you aren't already enrolled, you can do so by clicking here. Once you are enrolled in the beta program, you will be getting an update notification soon.

The update weighs a hefty 1293MB. Unlike the practices Google might indulge in, the update has the January 5 security patch, instead of the latest February security patch. Whatever the case may be, Google has at least started rolling out the beta update.

The final stable build of Nougat 7.1.2 will be made available to the Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P in the coming months.
