LG G6 with 5.7-inch FullVision dispay, dual camera gets official

LG has officially announced its first flagship for 2017, the G6 at MWC 2017, Barcelona. The South Korean tech giant says the G6 is a phone with a big screen that actually fits your hand, as it was able to fit the big screen into a compact phone, thanks to the extremely narrow bezels, resulting in a screen-to-body ratio of about 80 percent.

On the outside, the G6 sports a metal and glass design with chamfered edges and rounded corners. The fingerprint scanner is located at the back below the dual-cameras. LG touts the G6 to be the world's first smartphone with Dolby Vision and HDR 10, which was until now limited to high-end TVs, and the phone promises superior sound with an upgraded 32-but quad-DAC.

The LG G6 features 5.7-inch QHD+ Full Vision display with a Univisium 18:9 (2:1) aspect ratio, which is longer and narrower than the regular 16:9 ratio. Thanks to the 18:9 aspect ratio, the LG G6 will offer more immersive viewing experience and multi-tasking capabilities. It is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 821 processor and comes with 4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB storage, which can be expanded via microSD card.

For photography, it gets dual 13MP wide-angle cameras to capture more subject, scenario or action. The main camera boasts features like dual-LED flash, OIS, 4K video recording, 360-degree panorama and square camera grid shots. On the front there's 5MP 100-degree wide-angle camera for group selfies.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11ac, GPS, USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 4.2 and NFC. Thankfully it does include a 3.5mm audio jack.

It runs Android 7.1 Nougat with LG UX 6.0 on top, which is customized to take advantage of the G6's expansive FullVision display for a differentiated experience while viewing videos or web browsing. Also, the graphic user interface (GUI) is smartly designed to open to perfectly squared windows side-by-side. The G6 also comes integrated with Google Assistant, making the first non-Pixel devices to offer the digital voice assistant.

It also gets IP68 rating for dust and water resistance and running the show is a 3300mAh battery backed by Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 technology for fast charging.

The LG G6 will be available in the colors Mystic White, Astro Black and Ice Platinum, and come bundled with free in-game contents worth $200, that can be available through Google Play Store. The pricing and availability details are yet to be announced.
