Alcatel is launching a new smartphone in India called Pixi 4 (6). It was first introduced at CES 2016 and comes with large screen and out-dated specs sheet. The original variant supported only 3G networks, but the one, launched for the Indian market gets 4G LTE and VoLTE support.

The Alcatel Pixi 4 (6) has a 6-inch HD IPS display and is powered by 1.1GHz Snapdragon 210 chip with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage, which can be expanded via microSD card. It has 8MP rear camera with LED flash and 5MP front facing camera.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. It is fueled by 2580mAh battery and has Arkamys-optimised speakers. For software, it runs Android Marshmallow out of the box.

The Alcatel Pixi 4 (6) is not cheap, given the specs. It is priced at Rs. 9,199 and is much higher than Xiaomi's Redmi 3S Prime,  Moto G5 or Redmi Note 4, which offers better specs, but has up to 5.5-inch display. However Alcatel is targeting the Pixi 4 (6) at users who want a large screen and use their device for media-consumption, meaning for watching movies, online streaming services and browsing web.

It comes in metallic silver and metallic gold color, and will be available in retail stores across the country.
