Adobe Scan turns you smartphone or tablet into a document scanner

Adobe has released a new free document scanning app for mobile devices called Adobe Scan that turns your phone or tablet into a scanning tool. The app is just like Microsoft's Office Lens, but comes with Adobe Cloud integration to save the scanned documents.

With the app, you can scan documents and convert printed text into digital text using the phone's rear camera thanks to Optical Character Recognition technology. The Adobe Scan app lets you turn receipts, notes, pictures, documents, business cards and whiteboards into an Adobe PDF file.

Once you capture an image you want to scan, the app's Adobe Sensei powered advanced image technology automatically detects the borders and sharpens the scanned content. It cleans the image, fixes perspective, removes the shadows and then uses image recognition to detect and convert printed text to digital text.

You can edit, crop, rotate, adjust color, reorder, highlight and preview the scanned document before saving it. Once the scan is converted into PDF, it will be automatically saved into Adobe Document Cloud, so you can get access to it anytime, from anyplace.

Adobe Scan is free to download and is available for both Android and iOS devices. (Via)
