Android Nougat now rolling out for Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom

Asus' ZenFone 3 Zoom packs dual-cameras and giant battery at a budget, and hit the shelves recently (select markets) carrying a price tag of $329. However, it shipped with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, but now it is getting the Nougat treatment.

The company is rolling out Android 7.1.1 update to the device, which brings the usual Nougat goodies like multi-window support, customizable setting and more, along with fixes to issues related with the Zen UI.

Here's the list of changes the update brings:
  • Android N
  • RAW file capture support
  • Portrait Mode as one of the camera modes, uses both cameras to sense depth and blur the background
  • Google Now and Google Assistant built-in to ZenUI launcher
  • No more Mobile Manager, Auto-Start Manager, and Splendid notifications
  • Removed all third party apps for the leanest ZenUI ever
  • The top row of Quick Settings icons was previously locked to pre-selected options. Users can now put any quick setting
The update arrives with the version V20.31.49.2 and is said to be around 1.1GB in size.  To check for the update, go to Settings -> About -> System Update.
