Nikon Coolpix W300 rugged waterproof camera announced


Japan based popular digital camera maker Nikon has introduced Coolpix W300, a compact camera with rugged build. It is waterproof up to a depth of 30 meters, is capable of surviving falls from up to 2.4 meters, and is also able to withstand extreme cold temperatures, up to -10 degree Celsius.

The Coolpix W300 features 16MP 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor with 5x optical zoom and can record 4k Ultra HD videos at 30fps. It also offers burst shooting at 7fps and full HD video recording at 60fps. The camera's aperture ranges from f/2.8 at the wide end to f/4.9 at the telephoto end.

It also has 3-inch LCD display, altimeter, depth gauge, and connectivity features onboard include built-in GPS, NFC, Bluetooth, WiFi and SD card slot. The camera now uses SnapBridge app to pair with Android and iOS device.

The camera weighs about 232g and comes in camouflage, orange, yellow and black colors.

The Nikon Coolpix W300 is priced at $390 (Rs. 25,000) in the U.S. It will also launch in India in July.
