Xiaomi Mi A1 Is Now Getting The September Security Patch

The Mi A1 was launched by Xiaomi earlier this month in partnership with Google. The device has Nougat 7.1.2 onboard with the August 1 security patch. Being an Android One smartphone, the Mi A1 will be getting monthly security patches just like the Nexus and Pixel devices.

Xiaomi has begun rolling out the September security patch to the Mi A1. The update weighs ~1060MB and includes fixes for the Blueborne vulnerability wherein a hacker could hijack and gain control of a device via Bluetooth.

In you have a Mi A1, you will get a notification when the OTA update is available for your device. Since OTA updates are rolled out in phases, it may take a while for the update to reach you. You may also check for the update manually by heading over to Settings > About Phone and clicking on 'Check for updates'.
