Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro with 8th generation Intel Core processor announced


Xiaomi at its event in China introduced its latest laptop dubbed Mi Notebook Pro featuring 8th generation Intel Core Kaby Lake-R processor and dedicated graphics card. The new laptop flaunts a premium metal body with sturdy magnesium alloy frame. It also includes a fingerprint sensor, which is integrated into the touch pad for Windows Hello function.

The Mi Notebook Pro features 15.6-inch Full HD display with narrow bezels and is protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 3. It can be configured with Intel's 8th generation Core i5-8250U (3.4GHz) or Core i7-8550U (4GHz) processor with 8GB or 16GB RAM. It packs NVIDIA GeForce MX150 GPU, and 256GB SSD. It also has a addition slot for adding SSD storage.

The ports on-board include a USB Type-C port, a full function Type-C port, a full HDMI port, 2 x USB 3.0 ports, 3.5mm audio jack and SD card reader. It has 60Wh battery that promises up to nine hours of video playback and 8.5 hours of web browsing. It also supports 1C quick charge, that promises to deliver 50 percent of charge in 35 minutes. There Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.1 for wireless connectivity.

It sports a backlit keyboard for low-light use, and has a symmetrical cooling system design with double inbound and outbound airflow for faster cooling, while performing heavy tasks. It is also fitted with custom built-Harman Infinity speakers backed by Dolby Atmos audio. The whole machine measures 15.9mm and weighs 1.95kg.

Xiaomi will sell the Mi Notebook Pro in three models: Core i5/8GB RAM at CNY 5699 ($874 | Rs. 56,000), Core i7/8GB RAM at CNY 6399 ($980 | Rs. 63,000) and Core i7/16GB RAM priced CNY 6999 ($1074 | Rs. 69,000).
