Samsung expands wearables compatibility to Galaxy J family

Samsung has expanded its Gear and Icon wearable devices compatibility to work with the mid-range Galaxy J family.

Now owners of Galaxy J5 Prime, Galaxy J5 Pro, Galaxy J7 Neo and Galaxy J7 Prime can use their handset with the Gear Fit 2, Gear Fit2 Pro, Gear IconX, Gear S2 and Gear S3.

To use the wearable with Galaxy J family, just download the updated Gear Manager app from the Play Store on your mobile device. Then set it up to pair and sync with the wearables. The compatibility is currently available in Brazil, and should expand to other regions in the near future.

The Gear Fit line brings features like integrated GPS, music playback, notification from connected devices, fitness & activity tracking heart rate monitoring and swimming monitoring and more. They are also water and dust resistance and come with a touch display and 4GB internal storage. The Gear Icon X on the other hand are fully wireless earbuds, and offers features like music playback, heart rate monitoring, fitness tracking and more. It has 4GB storage and is splash resistant.
