Amazon Prime Video lands on Apple TV

Apple at its WWDC conference in June this year promised to bring Amazon Prime Video app for the Apple TV before the end of this year.

Now as promised Amazon Prime Video app is available for Apple TV.  The tvOS  version of Prime Video is available to download on Apple TV third generation. The Prime Video iOS app was updated to version 5.0 as well, and brings support for iPhone as universal search.

The Amazon Prime Video app joins the likes of other content streaming services such as Hulu, Netflix among other on the Apple TV. Previously, Prime Video could only be played on Apple TV over AirPlay connection from another Apple devices. However, the native app should greatly improve the viewing experience.

Currently Amazon does not sell Apple TV, but now with Apple supporting Amazon's video app, the door should open soon. Earlier Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos refused to sell Apple TV on Amazon unless his company’s Prime Video app could be installed.
