Redmi Note 5 Pro Barely Passes JerryRigEverything's Durability Test

JerryRigEverything is a YouTube channel run by Zack Nelson that tests the durability of smartphones. The range of tests includes scratching, burning, and bending the phone. The Redmi Note 5 Pro was launched in India earlier this year. Since its launch, the Note 5 pro has been selling like hotcakes and has been tough to get hands on. Just a few hours ago, Nelson posted the durability test video for the Note 5 Pro.

The video starts with the scratch test where the Note 5 Pro does as well as flagships. There are initial scratches on the display at level six, and deeper ones at level seven. The bottom and top of the phone are found to be of plastic, while the sides and the buttons are of metal. The front camera and the selfie flash are tugged under glass. Turning the phone over, the majority of the back is made of metal. The portions of the back above the antenna lines are of plastic, though.

In the burn test, the Note 5 Pro lasted nine seconds. However, since the phone has an IPS LCD panel, the pixels recovered to their original state. It was in the bend test that the Redmi Note 5 Pro wobbled. The back almost cracked from between the power and volume up key but the phone managed to hold up.
