ViperOS 5.1.0 adds December security patch and VoLTE icon


ViperOS made a return to the custom ROM fold last month with builds based on Android 8.1. The developers of the ROM have been working on improving the ROM since and a new update is now available.

The version number has been bumped up to 5.1. Coming to the improvements, there are upstream changes from the source of LinegeOS, the December security has been merged and the VoLTE icon has been added. The point-wise changelog is given below.

For the complete list of features in ViperOS, you can refer to our earlier post. The ViperOS team hasn't commented on when it plans to begin development for Pie. For the time being, the team is focused on the development of Oreo.

ViperOS 5.1 is currently available for the Galaxy J5 2015, the Galaxy S5, the Moto G5 Plus, the Moto Z2 Play, the OnePlus 5/5T, the Redmi 5 and the Redmi Note 4/4X. The downloads for the ROM can be found here. You can refer to the XDA thread of the ROM of your device for the list of changes specific to your device. The device-specific changelog can also be found on the Telegram channel of ViperOS.
