Xiaomi discounts Redmi Y2 in India, now starts at Rs 8,999

As a part of its #High5 campaign on Twitter, Xiaomi India is announcing five offers on its product line-up. The company has already unveiled two of its offers: a price cut for the Mi A2 was announced on Monday and the price of the Redmi Note 5 Pro was also slashed yesterday. Now for the third offer, Xiaomi has dropped the part of its selfie-centric Redmi Y2 smartphone.

Both the models of the Redmi Y2 have received a price cut of Rs 1,000. The base variant (with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage) can now be purchased at Rs 8,999 from the earlier price of Rs 9,999. The higher variant of the Y2 -- that comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage -- will cost you Rs 10,999.

Xiaomi has confirmed that the price cuts are permanent. The new prices are applicable starting today. You can get a Redmi Y2 from Amazon, Flipkart, mi.com and Xiaomi's offline network of retail stores.
