[Android Tip] Big Battery Saver

I recently went to an event with a friend who runs a Nexus 6p, (the phone I used to have).  He was interested in what i had moved to, and it was the Google Pixel. He was really impressed with the smoothness in comparison.  Something i hadn't really noticed, since switching over. I have adapted, feeling almost like i'm getting the same experience but with a smaller handset (the bluetooth connectivity issue was a dealbreaker for me with the Nexus 6p).

He went through every setting with care, changed a few visual aspects but was shocked i wasn't aware of the wifi scanning and bluetooth scanning option.  Apparently this is something that other appplications can switch back on at any time!

How to remedy

1. Go to settings, click the search button at the top right corner of the screen.

2. Type "scanning"

3.click into scanning

4. ensure that Bluetooth and also Wifi scanning are switched off.

Immediately I noticed that my battery drain had reduced, yet he was reaching for his rapid charger before we had even left the event, this is due to his rom flashing addiction.

Even though we are all experienced with our roms, its a great idea to let another enthuasit look through your phone, as there may be a tip which you dont know about.  Sharing knowledge and learning from each other is the great thing about android, its the basis of open source.
