Samsung accidentally confirms existence of Galaxy Tab S2, possible image leaked


Last year in June, Samsung introduced its premium Galaxy Tab S series which offered high-end display with premium specs. Now the South Korean tech giant is getting ready to launch the new generation Galaxy S2 tablet. New details regarding this has surfaced online.

The first leak, confirms that Samsung is working on Galaxy Tab S2 tablet. An official change log of Hancom Office Hshow 2014 app (comes pre-installed out of the box on Samsung Galaxy smartphones), which is used to open Microsoft office and PDF's files claims that the new app version supports Galaxy Tab S2, therefore confirming the existence of the tablet.


Earlier there were reports that there will be four variants of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 - Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi+LTE variants of Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and Galaxy Tab S2 9.7. All of them are expected to be announced in June just like the previous Galaxy Tab S. 

In addition OnLeaks has leaked an image of the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7. According to OnLeaks Samsung's 9.7-inch Galaxy Tab 2's will have a design "inspired' by Galaxy S6 and measures 237.17mm by 169.58mm and has a thickness of 5.5mm.

From the image we can make out that the design is similar to the recently announced Galaxy Tab A. It is very thin and sports a metal frame. There is a physical home button, which might be equipped with a fingerprint sensor along with capacitive multitasking and back buttons. On the front there is a camera and an ambient light sensor. On the right side there is power button and the volume rocker along with microphone, SIM card and microSD card slot.

The Galaxy Tab S2 is rumored to feature a Super AMOLED display with 2048x1536 pixels screen resolution, 64-bit Exynos processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage and microSD card slot. It will come equipped with 8-megapixel rear camera and 2.1-megapixel front facing camera. The tablet will support Wi-Fi ac/b/g/n and Cat.6 LTE connectivity.

Samsung's Galaxy Tab S2 will be released worldwide including India, the U.S, Europe, Canada, China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Latin America.
