Amazon’s next 8″ Fire tablet specs outed by GFXBench

Amazon just announced its next gen premium eReader, Kindle Oasis, and now it appears that one more new product from Amazon is on the way. A new Amazon tablet codenamed KFGIWI, which is reportedly being called the next gen Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet has been spotted on GFXBench website.

According to GFXBench database, the Amazon KFGIWI will sports a 8-inch display which has a screen resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and is equipped with 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8163 64bit processor with four ARM Cortex A-53 cores and Mali T720 GPU. To recall the current gen Fire HD 8 tablet has MediaTek MT8135 quad-core processor with two ARM-Cortex A15 cores and two ARM Cortex-A7 cores, and PowerVR series 6 GPU.

The tablet will have 1.5GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt storage (no word on storage expansion), 2MP rear camera w/ flash and 0.3MP front camera. It will support WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop.

Currently there is no word on the launch date, but considering the leaked specs, we can expect the tablet to be priced cheaper than the current generation Fire HD 8 tablet that sells for $149.99.
