Yu says that its upcoming flagship will 'break' all others

Micromax sub-brand YU is all set to launch its next flagship phone later this month. YU has released a teaser video of the upcoming flagship with a tagline, "Redefining Flagship. This month..."

In the video CEO Rahul Sharma breaks a model of ship with a hammer, hinting that YU's upcoming flagship will break other flagships, which goes along with OnePlus' tagline of flagship killer. The video does not offer any details, but a teaser post on YU's official forum indicates that the flagship will pack top-notch hardware to compete against flagship products from other brands.

Regarding the upcoming flagship Rahul Sharma said "It's insanely beautiful and it will break some hearts. It will break records, it will break the conventional, it will break the rules...WAIT, it will break the flagships." Currently there are no details on the specs of YU's upcoming flagship smartphone.

Micromax announced YU brand last year to take on the Chinese smartphone. Since the launch the brand has played safe by releasing sub-Rs. 10,000 smartphones including Yureka, Yureka Plus, Yunique and Yuphoria, until December 2015, when the brand decided to launch a premium flagship product, Yutopia which did not taste the same success as the mid-ranged category phones. The brand will be giving a second shot to the premium flagship category once again.

Last month, without much fanfare, YU silently launched the Yureka Note phablet in India for Rs. 13,499. It is currently available via offline mobile stores across the country. (Via)
