Oxygen OS 3.2.0 for OnePlus 3 halted as users report issues

The most awaited OnePlus 3 finally hit the market last month with 6GB RAM and Snapdragon 820 SoC. However, some users started facing problems related to multi-tasking and RAM management. To fix this, just a day ago OnePlus stared rolling out Oxygen OS 3.2.0 update for the OnePlus 3 with improved RAM management along with bug fixes and improvements.

Now due to some issues while updating, OnePlus has halted the roll out until further notice. OnePlus did not mention what exactly the issue is, bur According to users on OnePlus forums and reddit, every time a OnePlus 3 owner, check to see if they have an update (Settings > Check Update), their IMEI is sent to OnePlus servers in plain HTTP and not HTTPS. This contains the IMEI of the device in the user agent, as well as in a header labeled “imei.”

Since the request is made over HTTP and not HTTPS, OnePlus 3 update on an unsecured network may expose their specific IMEI number to wrong doers, who may cause havoc.

OnePlus has not provided a time frame as to when the update will start rolling out again.
