Samsung Electronics has introduced the world's first removable memory cards based on JEDEC Universal Flash Storage (UFS) 1.0 card extension standard, aimed at high-resolution mobile shooting devices such as DSLRs, 3D VR camera, actions and cams and drones.

The Samsung UFS cards come in 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB capacities. The new UFS cards are built to handle intensive 3D gaming and high-resolution movie playback. Compared to microSD card of today, the new UFS cards it offers five time fast read speeds at 530MB/s and almost two time faster write speeds at 170MB/s.

Samsung's new UFS removable memory cards are based on the same technology as the UFS 2.0 internal storage the company announced earlier this year.

Samsung says that the UFS cards can read a 5GB Full HD (1080p) movie in approximately 10 seconds or shoot 24 large/extra fine JPEG photographs continuously with high-end DSLR camera in less than seven seconds.
