A Good Move By Facebook: Messenger Lite [APK Download]

You sure must have hated the time when Facebook forced you to install Messenger app as a separate conversation app for Facebook (meme reference). Sure, it had the annoying size and ram sucking features that hanged the devices. But with time the app improved and improved with capabilities of audio and video calls which then made its separate existence a more sensible idea. However, the storage part is still an issue to users as Messenger cuts out plenty of storage still. And being a dynamic and very responsive app with those smooth animations, the app doesn't work on low bandwidth connections like 2G.

Today Facebook comes to the rescue with MESSENGER LITE. New lightweight and network friendly app particularly built for slow speed internet so that people who can't afford or rely on networks like 2G can access messenger's child version as this app has cut out many features that original messenger contains. However, we really can't complaint about that because lite word is enough to say it is for basic use.

Messenger Lite is starting to roll out to people in Kenya, Tunisia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Venezuela. Look for Messenger Lite in other countries in the coming months.

But, here we are with the APK sourced from APK Mirror which works even if you don't live in the countries mentioned above. We tested this app here in India and it seems to be working as expected.

Features that are not working in India (seems to be working in the countries mentioned above) but shows up in the screenshots below -
