OnePlus 3T with Snapdragon 821 processor, Android Nougat expected soon

Rumors in the past have claimed that OnePlus 3 is working on a new OnePlus 3 version reportedly called OnePlus 3s. Moreover, the device was certified by 3C in China earlier this month with model number A3010.

Now a new rumor claims that the new OnePlus 3 variant will be released as the OnePlus 3T or OnePlus 3 Turbo. The information was allegedly revealed by a OnePlus designer when he posted something on his weibo account (now removed).

According to reports, OnePlus 3T will arrive as a replacement to the OnePlus 3. It will have the same price tag and all-metal design, but will offer beefier specs including a more powerful 2.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 821 processor, instead of 2.15GHz Snapdragon 820 processor available on current model. The new processor also supports Google Daydream VR platform. OnePlus 3T will also support Dash Charge fast charging technology and ship with Android 7.0 Nougat based Oxygen OS.

Just last week, a report suggested that OnePlus has halted production of OnePlus 3 as it has been struggling to meet demands for the flagship killer due to Shortage of AMOLED display, and plans to launch a new OnePlus 3 model with LCD display. However, Carl Pei has confirmed that the company will use Optic AMOLED display for the foreseeable future.

So the OnePlus 3T is expected to arrive with an Optic AMOLED display. The rest of the specs will remain same as the current OnePlus 3 model including 5.5-inch Full HD display, 6GB RAM, 64GB storage, 16MP/8MP cameras, fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port and 3000mAh battery.

Currently it is not known when OnePlus plans to unveil the OnePlus 3T.
