Oppo R9s, R9s Plus with 6GB RAM, 16MP cameras goes official

Chinese smartphone maker Oppo has announced its camera-centric R9s and R9s Plus flagship smartphones. Both sports a metal unibody design, has fingerprint scanner embedded into the home button and runs Android Marshmallow based ColorOS 3.0. 

The Oppo R9s and R9s Plus features 16MP Sony IMX398 rear camera with dual-focus technology, f/1.7 aperture, LED flash, EIS, and 4K video recording. For selfies and video calling there's 16MP front facing camera. The R9s Plus also has OIS+ support for recording videos without blur.

The Oppo R9s has a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels 2.5D curved glass display with a layer of Gorilla Glass 5 for protection. Under the hood there's 1GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor paired with Adreno 506 GPU and 4GB RAM, along with 64GB internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card. It is fueled by 3010mAh battery with support for VOOC flash charge fast charging technology that will offer 2 hours of talk time with just 5 minutes for charge. Hybrid dual-SIM slots, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth and GPS are also on-board for connectivity.

The Oppo R9s Plus offers a more beefier specs and is the Oppo's first smartphone to pack 6GB RAM. It features 6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection, octa-core Snapdragon 653 processor with Adreno 510 GPU and 64GB storage, with storage expansion support via microSD card. In is fueled by 4000mAh battery and supports VOOC flash charge, and includes 4G VoLTE, Hybrid dual-SIM slots, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS as connectivity options.

The Oppo R9s and R9s Plus are priced at CNY 2799 ($415 | Rs. 28,000) and CNY 3499 ($520 | Rs. 34,500) respectively and comes in Gold, Rose Gold and Black colors. The R9s will go on sale in China starting October 28, while the R9s Plus will be available in December.
