How to save YouTube videos over Google Drive

Everybody is totally aware that YouTube is the best video streaming application/website so far which is available for every platform beginning from Android to iOS and even PCs. However, the shortcoming of YouTube is that it doesn't allow its videos to be taken over your phones and PCs which means that you may be able to download them but that's still only available to watch over the app in offline mode. 

But do you know that YouTube videos can be actually taken over into Google drives? The thing is that sometimes we don’t get time to watch long videos so in this case, saving to your Google Drive is the best option for you. You also have been uploading videos for a while, chances are you don’t have every single item of it locally. By knowing how to save YouTube videos to Google drive, you can backup it to cloud and retrieve whenever a need arises for you. So let's show you how it is done.

Google has specially made a tool to save YouTube videos over your Drive. Let's tell you what to do.

Step 1: Firstly, visit Google Takeout page. You can visit the page by clicking here.

Step 2: On that page, several items will display in front of you. There, click on the 'Next' button and all your YouTube data will be saved. 

Step 3: Now, another tab will open in your browser and the first thing you've to do is select the file type. The extensions are given as .zip, .tbz and .tgz. All these file types are archive file formats. You're however recommended to select .zip extension as that's the most convenient file type. 

Step 4: After that, you have to select the delivery method. Among the four options that appear, the last three will allow you to add YouTube data to save on cloud. Which means you've to choose 'Add to Dropbox' option. 

Step 5: You're done. Now you've to click on the 'Create archive' button shown in blue color. The process will start and it will take the time according to the size of the videos that you've uploaded over YouTube. That's it! Check your Google Drive account. There will be a folder called 'Takeout' in which all the data will be saved.

That's it. You'll now successfully be able to Save your YouTube videos over your Google drive with full backup created.
