HTC U Play with 5.2-inch display, Helio P10 announced


Besides U Ultra, HTC also unveiled its younger sibling, the U Play. The HTC U Play comes with the same metal and glass design with no headphone jack, and features AI powered Sense Companion as the the U Ultra, but does not have the secondary display and includes and uses MediaTek chip.

The HTC U Play features 5.2-inch Full HD (1920 x  1080 pixels) Super LCD display with a layer of Gorilla Glass. It has octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor and will be available in two variants ― 3GB RAM/32GB storage and 4GB RAM/64GB storage. The storage is expandable via microSD card.

The camera department rocks 16MP PDAF f/2.0 rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and OIS. On the front there's 16MP camera for selfies. Connectivity duties are handled by 4G LTE, USB Type-C, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC and USB 2.0 Type-C port.

For software, it runs Android Marshmallow and is fueled by 2500mAh battery with fast charging support. There's also a fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button for unlocking the device.

The HTC U Ultra is priced at NT$ 13,900 ($438 | Rs. 30,000) for the 4GB RAM/64GB storage model, and comes in Sapphire Blue, Comestic Pink, Brilliant Black and Ice White colors. The price of the 3GB RAM/32GB storage model is not known.
