Sorry Moto E3 Power Owners, You Won't Be Getting The Nougat Update

A few months back Motorola had listed the smartphones it will be updating to Android's latest version of Nougat. Unfortunately, there was no mention of the Moto E3/E3 Power and the Moto G3 in the list. Moto E3 owners were still however optimistic that Motorola will eventually roll out the Nougat update for the device which was launched in September 2016.

The device was powered by Marshmallow 6.0 out of the box. Google recommends each OEM to support a device through the medium of software updates for a period of at least two years. Considering that the Moto E3/E3 Power is not even six months old, Motorola should have had at least updated the E3 to Nougat.

A recent update to Motorola India's customer support page has now confirmed that the Moto E3 Power will remain on Marshmallow 6.0 only. Although this shall disappoint all the Moto E3 Power users, we do hope that Motorola will keep the device updated to the latest monthly security patches and do justice to all the Moto E3 buyers.
