Jio Effect: Airtel Comes Up With 28GB Data Pack For Rs.345

There is no doubt that the private cellular companies like Idea, Airtel, Vodafone etc. had been earning humongous profits until Jio came around and became the Robin Hood for India's data packs and voice calls. Now, after enjoying free data for months, Jio's trial period is about to end. It will take away all the benefits of free voice calling and net surfing along with it. If one plans to continue availing the services of Jio, one has to enrol in the newly introduced Jio's Prime Membership offer before March 31. Jio's Prime Membership has a one time registration fee of Rs.99. Members of Jio Prime will be entitled to the services as offered during the Happy New Year trial period (1GB high speed data per day and free voice calls) till March 31, 2018 if they do subsequent monthly recharges of Rs.303/month. This fee is nominal as it is approximately Rs.10/day. Thus, you will be paying Rs.10/day for free voice calls and 1GB 4G data/day. Although this offer totally cuts off the competition, it seems as if Airtel is not backing off anytime soon.

Airtel has now introduced a recharge pack that comes close to Jio in terms of voice and data rates. This new pack is priced at Rs.345 and has a validity of 28 days. The pack will give out 1GB data/day and free voice calls (Local/STD). This may seem a lot like Jio's Rs.303/month recharge scheme, but there's a catch in Airtel's Rs.345 recharge pack. The data being provided here is split into 500MB for day and 500MB for night, which might kill the excitement and this is why Jio is still a clear winner here. Also, if you want to get out of the restrictions of this split data usage for day and night, you can go further and recharge with Rs.549 which has been introduced alongside Rs.345 pack.

Airtel has introduced this offer exclusively for Prepaid users. If you recharge with any of the above data packs before 31st March, you can do a similar recharge every month till the next year.
